Welcome to Camp Crocker, a private lakefront home on the peaceful shores of Cochnewagon Lake in Monmouth, Maine.
Cherished by our family since 1986, Camp Crocker is a place made for spending time together. Mornings on the dock, afternoons on the water, dinner overlooking the lake, and evenings around the firepit.
With approximately 200 feet of private shoreline, your own dock, a spacious waterfront lawn, kayaks, paddleboards, and a canoe, the lake is truly the center of the experience.
Camp Crocker is a comfortable three-bedroom, two-bath home accommodating up to eight guests.
The home blends the character of a traditional Maine camp with the conveniences families want for a relaxing stay.
Sleeping arrangements include:
Primary bedroom with queen bed
Second bedroom with full bed
Third bedroom with two double beds
Two full bathrooms
Each bedroom opens onto its own porch, offering a quiet place to step outside and enjoy the fresh Maine air.
Once inside, the home is primarily one level.
The living and dining areas connect to an enclosed porch overlooking Cochnewagon Lake, one of our favorite places in the house.
Start the morning here with coffee, settle in with a book on a rainy afternoon, play games with the family, or simply enjoy the changing view across the lake.
The living area includes comfortable seating and a small smart TV for streaming, although at Camp Crocker the lake tends to provide most of the entertainment.
Wi-Fi and an in-unit washer and dryer are also available for guests.
The kitchen is set up for everything from a quick breakfast before heading onto the water to a full family dinner.
You’ll find modern appliances, cookware, dishes and utensils, along with a crockpot, blender, and coffee station.
Enjoy meals inside, grill outdoors, or gather around the picnic table overlooking the waterfront.
Step outside and the lake is right in front of you.
The large lawn leads down to approximately 200 feet of shoreline and the private L-shaped dock.
Spend your days swimming, fishing, paddling, boating, or simply relaxing in an Adirondack chair by the water.
Guests can enjoy the private dock, two paddleboards, kayaks, canoe, paddles and life jackets, lakeside firepit, Adirondack chairs, outdoor grill, picnic table, and lawn games.
In the evening, gather around the firepit as the sun goes down and listen for the loons across the lake.
Cochnewagon Lake offers a relaxed setting for swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and boating.
Compared with many of Maine’s larger lakes, Cochnewagon often has a quieter feel, particularly during the week, making it easy to get out on the water or simply enjoy the view from shore.
Bring your own boat or jet ski and make Camp Crocker your home base on the lake.
The public boat launch is approximately half a mile away, and the property has room for a boat trailer up to approximately 40 feet along with additional guest parking.
The private dock provides docking space on both sides, subject to boat size, draft, and seasonal lake conditions.
One of the things we love most about Camp Crocker is that you can enjoy the feeling of a Maine lake retreat without being far from town.
Downtown Monmouth is nearby, with several local favorites within walking distance, including Monmouth General Store, Monmouth Kwik Shop, Apple Valley Bakery, and Theater at Monmouth.
Groceries, restaurants, fuel, and convenient access to Routes 132 and 202 are also close by.
If you’d like to explore farther, Maine’s coast is approximately 45 minutes away, making Camp Crocker a comfortable home base for both lake days and day trips.
Camp Crocker is especially well suited for families looking to slow down and spend time together.
Swim from the property, take a morning paddle, fish from the dock, play games on the lawn, grill dinner outside, and finish the evening around the fire.
When the weather changes, the enclosed lake-view porch gives everyone a comfortable place to gather while still enjoying the waterfront setting.
A Pack ’n Play is available for families traveling with younger children.
Guests have access to the home’s indoor living spaces, bedroom porches, waterfront lawn, shoreline, dock, firepit, and provided recreational equipment.
The garage is reserved as an owner’s area and is not available to guests.
The interior of the home is primarily one level, but exterior stairs are required to enter the house.
For our family, Camp Crocker has been a place to gather on Cochnewagon Lake since 1986.
We invite you to make it your own for a few days, whether that means spending every afternoon on the water, exploring Monmouth and central Maine, reading on the porch, or doing absolutely nothing except sitting by the lake and listening to the loons.
Welcome to Camp Crocker.
